Richard E. Badour Jr.

Mr. Badour is a native of the St. Lawrence River growing up in Fishers Landing. He is a 1979 graduate of Thousand Islands Central School where he studied trumpet under the direction of Mr. Stephen Worden and voice with Mr. Robert Connor. Mr. Badour furthered his education attending Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY and Fredonia School of Music at SUNY Fredonia receiving a Bachelors of Music Education Degree in 1983. In 1986 he received a Masters of Elementary Education Degree from SUNY Oswego.

Mr. Badour has recently retired from the Belleville Henderson Central School District where he had been teaching instrumental lessons, Elementary, Middle School and High School Concert Bands and Marching Band since 1983. He is a New York State School Music Association Brass Adjudicator, a member of the New York State Band Directors Association, Jefferson Lewis County Music Teachers Association, New York State School Music Association and National Association for Music Education.

His performance experiences include county, New York State and National Music Festivals, vocal performances with the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Rochester Symphony Orchestra. In recent years he has been a guest vocal performer at the Clayton Opera House and a founding member of the Clayton Community Band performing on many instruments such as Baritone Saxophone, Baritone Horn, Tuba and most recently Trumpet.
